We first met Megan and Ryan in the summer of 2018 where we discussed their wedding the following summer. Over the course of the year, emails were exchanged and the details of the day started to come to life. After much anticipation, the day was upon us and we were ready to go!Â
Our day began at the venue Morgan Hill in Hermon, where the entire day would unfold from beginning to end. With Megan and Ryan getting ready at the venue, it allowed us a little extra time to get detail images of the venue that we might not have been able to get if preparations, ceremony and reception were all in different places.
This day was hot! With temperatures in the 90's (f). It was great to have a venue that was air conditioned. Megan got ready with her bridesmaid's on the second floor while Ryan and his groomsmen got dressed on the lower level. Everyone was having such a great time joking and laughing. We could tell this was a fun group of people.
This was our first wedding that incorporated Jewish traditions and it was refreshing to photograph.Â
The Walk to the Chuppah: The Chuppah is a beautiful canopy that the couple gets married under. The groom is walked down the aisle by both of his parents, then the bride and her parents follow. For this ceremony Ryan met Megan half way down the aisle to unveil her.
Circling: The bride traditionally circles around her groom either three or seven times under the Chuppah. The bride is symbolically creating a new family circle.
The Seven Blessings, called the Sheva B'rachot: Seven family members and friends came to the front of the ceremony and read beautiful passages about love, joy and companionship.
Breaking of the Glass. As the ceremony came to the end, Ryan stepped on a glass inside a cloth bag to shatter it. It demonstrates that marriage holds sorrow as well as joy and is a representation of the commitment to stand by one another even in hard times.Â
The ceremony had it all. Laughs, tears and looks of love between these two. We will remember this ceremony for many, many years to come.
While the wedding guests were having a cool-down, we took the wedding party out to get some photos outside the venue.Â
After we grabbed a few photos of the wedding party, we headed back inside the venue for speeches and dinner. As dinner was winding down, a beautiful sunset was unfolding outside so of course we jumped at the opportunity for some amazing sunset images of the wedding couple.
After capturing some stunning images we went right back inside to celebrate this wonderful day. These two had their first dance, cut their cake and then began dancing and celebrating with their family and friends. We were fortunate enough to get them to pose for a few quick shots before we left.Â
These two are great and it was a pleasure and an honor to photograph their wedding day. Thank you! Megan and Ryan we wish you a lifetime of happiness!Â
